How long does ketamine infusion therapy last?
Initial series of 6 infusions will take place every other day for a period of 12-14 days. Although we don’t recommend varying too much from this treatment protocol, we will customize the treatments to help meet your personal and travel needs. Subsequent single booster infusions may be required to keep your symptoms at bay. Resolution of symptoms may last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks

These include Rogaine (Minoxidil), which was originally used to treat high blood pressure, and was later found to help in hair loss or alopecia. These medicines represent alternative uses of FDA approved medications.

I first went to a clinic that did intramuscular injections. No effect. Zilch. Nada. Zero. Feeling a bit deflated, I found Dr. Abreu’s clinic — one of only two places in Oregon licensed to administer ketamine through IV. Now, let me tell you: this place is CLEAN, cozy, and so inviting that it feels like a spa, minus the cucumber water. Dr. Abreu and Mechelle were upfront and realistic, setting clear expectations about treatment. No fairy tale promises, just a plan that made sense.
By the end of my first round of treatments, I wasn’t feeling like a superhero, but as Dr. Abreu said, I’d start seeing results a few weeks later. And guess what? He was spot on! It wasn’t like my anxiety just disappeared (I wish), but now I can approach it with a clearer mindset, making it way more manageable. And energy? I’ve got more of it now than I’ve had in years. I’m even starting to feel like a person again.
Since starting treatment, I’ve cut back on my meds and even lost some weight (yes, you read that right). This isn’t a quick fix, but more like a serious investment in your long-term mental health. If you’re even remotely thinking about trying ketamine treatments, stop searching and go here. You won’t regret it!
At the Portland Ketamine clinic I have felt in very good hands. I have felt safe by how conscientiously considered my treatment has been catered to my needs and intended to work within a holistic purview that includes talk therapy, exercise, diet, etc. The staff have been wonderful to work with.
I honestly didn’t expect such positive results. I only wish I could have had access to this treatment years ago.
First, for me the treatment works. I was wary going into the treatment. I have been on different medications for depression most of my life. All of them work somewhat or the effects fade over time. So far this is the most effective treatment for me.
Second, the clinic is a wonderful, professional and knowledgeable place. Dr. Abreu and staff provide a safe and friendly atmosphere. They address any concerns, answer any questions and keep up to date with all developments in the field.
We have chosen to err on the side of safety by using more stringent exclusion guidelines than our purposes require when deemed necessary. We reserve the right to refuse treatment based on our clinical impression.
